Vineyard Tour
Take a leisurely stroll through a beautiful vineyard and winery, discovering how their wines are crafted from vine to glass. Your visit concludes with a relaxed tasting of their signature varieties — all just a 30‑minute drive from the Castle.
Luxury Yacht Charters
Experience the Jurassic Coast from a breathtaking new perspective aboard a private motor yacht. Glide out of Portland Marina with a glass of bubbles in hand and cruise towards Lulworth Cove, enjoying calm seas, stunning scenery, and time to relax with friends or family making it a memorable outing for all ages.
Local Coastal Boat Tour
1-2 hour boat trips around Portland and the Jurassic Coast, you may even spot some dolphins.
Watersports
Learn how to sail and have some fun out on the water with a professional instructor guiding you all the way, or if kayaking is more your thing, you can hire the equipment to head out on your own. Whether you are a beginner or a pro, there is something for everyone.
Climbing
Portland has an abundance of incredible climbing spots. Join with a beginner group session and learn all of the essential skills to safely climb in the area.
Golf
Weymouth Golf Club is just a 20-minute drive from The Penn and offers golfing experiences for various group sizes. The club also includes buggy hire facilities, a lounge bar and all-day catering. Please note, they are unable to provide golf club hire so visitors will need to bring their own.
Laser Clay Pigeon Shooting
For this activity they use 12 bore decommissioned shotguns which have been transformed to release invisible laser beans when fired. An instructor will should ‘3,2,1, pull!’ a clay will fly through the sky and if your gun makes contact, the points will automatically register in a large score board.
Cider and Beer Brewery Tour and Tasting
A guided tour and tasting experience inside a Jurassic Brewhouse, where you’ll explore how beer and cider are made, learn about the brewery’s history, and sample a generous selection of drinks. The visit includes a Q&A session and tastings served in your own souvenir pint or half‑pint glass.
